For the wounded soldier, coming home from war demands an ensuing combat to regain health and wellness. Hospital stays, surgeries, therapy sessions, and doctor appointments take over their days.

Likewise, these battle-scarred heroes must confront their psychological conflicts, withstanding combat trauma that delivers a crippling assault of anxiety, fear, and gloom.

Thus Freedom Alliance understands that therapy can occur outside of the hospital—outside being the operative word.

Freedom Alliance's newest outreach, "The Offshore Experience", organized specifically for wounded service members, provides several key elements: (1) an informal, low-stress environment; (2) the "mountain-top" experience of a grand location and activity in nature; (3) a small group of peers; and (4) a structured series of discussions to promote health and lasting impact.

Moreover, we have come to realize that many of our military’s wounded require more than a program or grant. They need relationships—people who care and consistently check in. They need a comrade to talk to (because pain isn’t always in the body). They need time to heal, outside a hospital or base or VA clinic.

And in this way, Freedom Alliance becomes more than a charity; we are friends and guides. If we can escort the veteran to a beautiful, quiet outdoor space, fishing rod in hand and military buddies beside, we can restore the warrior’s spirit.

This organization that was founded to honor the men and women who defend our country, who put themselves in danger so we don’t have to, is more than that. It is a life-changer.  This is Freedom Alliance.
